Adam Smith is one of the representatives of western school emotionalism ethics,and has a wealth of ethics thought, which mainly embodied in "moral sentiments",as the core of the Smith’s ethical thought system,the sympathy for thought is about a moral quality formation of the moral theory,which has important practical implications.This article is divided into five parts,the first part is the introduction part, about this article research background,research significance, research methods and innovation,etc;The second part,called the first chapter, is a brief introduction to Smith and his thought,Adam Smith’s life and academic achievements are introduced, and emphasizes the core position of compassion thought in the ethics system;In the third part,called the second chapter,it’s about the society background of the Smith sympathy thought and his criticism and development of the predecessors thinkers are dicussed,highlighting its ideological differences;The fourth part,called the third chapter,is key part of the article,including the meaning of compassion and self-interest and its relationship,the connotation of the "impartial spectator" and proper,the theory end-result of Compassion thought,each part is discussed,presenting the integrity and consistency of Smith’s sympathy for thought;As the fifth part,the fourth chapter arrives to the objective evaluation of Smith’s thought,discusses its theoretical characteristics,defects and enlightenment,and applies the theory to solve the problems of moral compassion encountered in our country’s current reality;the last chapter provides pratical solutions to improve bad morality,improve people’s moral quality,namely to provide reliable security mechanism for the formation of good social moral atmosphere from the aspect of subjective efforts and social mechanism aspects.
