Stereoscopic lacquer is sculpture art of lacquer. It diversifies in shapes and materials. Themodeling can be both abstract and vivid and the materials are rich in expression. Differrentfrom the general sculpture, the stereoscopic lacquer has its own language in addition to thesculpture morphology.Due to the historical origins and the special nature of the material, the deep-rootedtraditional lacquer craft seriously affects the modern development of stereoscopic lacquer.The concept of craft largely hinders the creation of modern stereoscopic lacquer. As a result,the modern and contemporary works show more craft art and is rigid in the modeling andlack in the material expression.while following the trend, the contemporary sculptures,paintings and other art already performed vividly.In recent years, with the changing of the function of the lacquer materials, the works ofstereoscopic lacquer gradually deviated from the traditional concept, showing the diversity ofperformance. Hence, the category of the contemporary art of lacquer has changed. This paperhas made a multi-angle exploration on the stereoscopic lacquer. Based on the functionaltransformation of the material from “behind the scenes” to “on-stage”, the paper analyzed theartistic expression of the material and explored the trends in creation.From the change of the artistic function, the paper argued that we need to update theconcept of thinking to follow the development of contemporary art in order to control thematerial and show oneself to broaden our field of creative thinking. In the future, thestereoscopic lacquer art should focus on the modern aesthetic trends to express the concept,emotion and creation. The art should move gradually toward the simplified material andstrong visual effects. The art of stereoscopic lacquer lacquer in China is hazy, young, and howcan we closely follow the development of the stereoscopic lacquer? Through the analyses ofthe research and practice in contemporary stereoscopic lacquer art the paper explored thelanguage and performance of stereoscopic lacquer lacquer art to identify a certain creativelaws in order to provide a more profound and clear understanding on it. The paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the definition of the concept. Form the dialectical point of viewthe paper gave the understanding of the general characteristics of the stereoscopic lacquer tolay the foundation for in-depth study of the following. The second part is the condition ofstereoscopic lacquer in contemporary China art environment. The part discussed the impactof traditional lacquer, interpreted the specific images to lead the way. The third part is aboutthe artistic expression of the material. In this section, combined with the recent research, thepaper development made a rational thinking on it. The fourth part is the new performancecharacteristics of the material in the stereoscopic lacquer. This part made a holistic analysis ofthe argument. The fifth part is the practical application and demonstration. Through somepractices, the author demonstrated the spirits of the stereoscopic lacquer once again.In conclusion, the effective performance of the material is worthy of our study. Thisstudy of contemporary stereoscopic lacquer lacquer is of great value and practical significanceand the transformation of the material from the “behind the scenes” to “on-stage” of thefunction is the necessity of the development of the art.
