| The Jiayuguan wei&jin mural tombs located in the Gobi desert is in the north-east of Jiayuguan city, Gansu province. It is a rare tomb that does’t inherit the auspicious pattern, myths and legends theme while using the scenes of people’s production life as the main theme. It provides a reliable physical proof for the research of the politics, economy, military, culture, national amalgamation, life style and climate of the Hexi region. A plenty of the murals in the tomb reflect the actual scene of the people’s life. These murals provide valuable materials to study the style, pattern and structure of people’s clothing in the wei&jin dynasty. This paper takes the people’s clothing in the mural tomb as the key point, using double evidence method, observation method, and literature research method and so on as well as combining various forms of data to analyze and study the features and structures of people’s clothing in the wei and jin dynasty. In order to guarantee the accuracy of study, the thesis consults the updated study achievements of the clothing history in Qin dynasty, Han dynasty, Sui dynasty and Tang dynasty. It also combines the related materials in Wei and Jin dynasty’s history of art, such as Pottery figurine, paintings, brick sculptures etc. The thesis thoroughly researched the origin, features, classification and structure of the people’s clothing in the Jiayuguan mural tombs in the period of wei and jin dynasty. By the analysis of the people clothing we found the clothing of the Jiayuguan tomb in the period of wei and jin dynasty not only inherit the features of the Han dynasty’s clothing but also absorb some features of the clothing in the Western Regions and minority nationality. At the same time, the clothing’s style and function also make some related adjustments due to the people’s different purpose and action in the production at different periods. |
