This article is an echo to the interpretation of Althusser to Marx’sthoughts in “For Marx”, where Althusser divided Marx’s main ideas into2phases, ideology phases and scientific phases, which I can hardly agreewith. On the one hand, It is arbitrary and metaphysical to divideMarx’s thoughts up merely by judging it as science or not. Due to thisperspective, Marx’s early ideas would be denied all. On the other hand,Althusser’s interpretation to Marx’s theory of humanitarianism is wrong. He considered Marx’s humanistic thought the same as thehumanitarianism in Western tradition, disregarding the great differencebetween the two on the basis. Althusser had correctly identified the Western tradition of humanitarian founding upon empiricism andidealism, but he misjudged the Marx’s philosophy. In my opinion, thereason is that Althusser did not properly understand the importantposition of the concept of practice in Marxist philosophyIn the philosophy of Hegel, subject and object, material and spiritcome to one, but in a reflect, mystery way. After the disintegration ofHegel’s philosophy, how to correctly understand the relationship betweensubject and object becomes a particularly important philosophicalquestion. Actually that is a question how to understand the relationshipbetween the man as a subject and the world as the object (also includesother individuals). In my view, humanitarian is actually a theory abouthow humans should look at their relationship with the world, how todetermine the role of humans in the universe. In other words, it is a formof philosophical anthropology. Western traditional humanitarian issue, indeed, as Althusser had identified above, is based on empiricism andidealism. But the problem was properly resolved by the concept of practice introduced by Marx. The concept of practice demonstrates thedynamism of the subject on the one hand and also contains theobjectivity of transformation object on the other hand. However,Althusser interpreted Marxist philosophy from the perspective ofscientism on purpose. He understood the practice of "practice" conceptmainly from the view of production. This means things subjective inpractice are stripped out, the relationship between man and the world issimply looked as the relationship between people and things. Thescientism Marxist considers the relationship between "man and things"as science, and calls for the development of economic, plundering natureone-sided. Today’s society has been plunged into a serious dilemma ofthe loss of confidence and moral. The task of top priority is toreconstruct Marx’s human theory on practice.
