Research On The20th Century Chinese Ceramic Sculpture Features

Ceramic sculpture, as one half part of ceramic art, under the modern ceramic consciousness awakening, its value manifested from the handicraft art is changing according to the cultural changes of the times. In the20th century, the ceramic sculpture art in China is explored and developed by a number of ceramic artists from several period of history, showing a positive situation for the development. Under the influence of both Chinese contemporary art and western modern ceramic art, ceramic sculpture in the20th century has been confronted with modern transformation problems since the reform and opening up. The Chinese ceramic art has been existed since ancient times, and the western modern ceramic art will work as an exterior factor while the chinese traditional ceramic art as the interior. After the reform and opening up, the development of China’s modern ceramic sculpture gradually comes to rebirth after the exploration of "bringism"This thesis tries to research from system of art theory, and for the structure arrangement, it takes history as the outline, trying to avoid the interference of history. The thesis makes a comprehensive summery for the development situation of ceramic sculpture in the20th century. Based on analysis of some events, artists and works, the thesis pays attention to the relationship of ceramic sculpture with various arts at the same time, politics, economics and cultures and so on, and preconditioned by the jointed feature of the common and the regional, the thesis displays the periodical characteristics of the Chinese ceramic sculpture art in20th century. The art of ceramic sculpture has been experienced transformations in different eras with specific significance in different eras, but remains essentially the same despite all apparent changes. The goal of the thesis is to display the essence of technology and art unifies,as well as the reform and innovation of modern Chinese ceramic sculpture.
