Alice Walker is an outstanding contemporary Afro-American woman writer and "the soul of female Afro-American writing, as well as writing renaissance" Walker originally proposed "womanism" which is different from feminism, to realize the black women’s survival whole."The color Purple", published in1982which caused a sensation in America, and won the Pulitzer prize for literature in the following year. Walker profoundly reveal the black women’s survival and interpretation the womanism discursive construction in the novel.This paper analyzes the purpose of the research and creation about black female critics and writers based on black women’s critical discourse and text creation. Analyse of the famous novel "The Color Purple" of Alice Walker, trying to explain discursive construction of the womanism. It consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, it introduces the definition and post-modern context of Alice Walker’s womanism. In the second chapter, it explains the modes of speaking of womanism discursive construction by analyzing the language strategies of Black English in "The Color Purple". In the third chapter, the’quilt’shows the most important metaphor in building the discursive construction of the womanism, it displays the pursuit for tradition of black aesthetics. |
