Chongqing, as the capital of the Nationalist government in wartime of the Anti-Japanese War and the country’s political, economic, cultural and diplomatic center of the rear area is the most important political arena in the Anti-Japanese national united front. With the national government’s capital moving to Chongqing, the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee built in Chongqing, democratic parties gathering in Chongqing, Chongqing provides a stage of evolution of the political forces. The main political forces cooperate mutually and support the critical situation of the Anti-Japanese War under the banner of Anti-Japanese national unity advocated by Communist Party of China. In deep study of the political and cultural relations between the main political forces in Chongqing arena, not only the important role of Chongqing in the process of the Anti-Japanese national unity can we know, it also helps us to recognize Chongqing’s position in the Anti-Japanese national united front role. It is of great historical and practical significance.This paper consists of seven parts. The first part is an introduction and overview of the status and significance of the topic; the second part discusses the origin of Chongqing as the Anti-Japanese national united front of the most important political arena; the third part discusses the development and evolution of political forces on the stage in Chongqing; the fourth and fifth part focuses on the political and cultural relations between the major political forces on stage in Chongqing; the sixth part summarizes and analyzes the status, historical and practical significance of Chongqing in the process of Anti-Japanese national united front; the last part is the conclusion of this paper.
