Since the20th century, the frequent occurrence of extreme weather events (heatwaves) had a great impact on the normal growth of plants. Taking China as anexample, studying the impact of Heat waves on vegetation net primary productivity,we can better understand the ecological function of the system and its response toclimatic and environmental changes, and we can get better disaster prevention andmitigation methods and provide a theoretical basis for sustainable development. With the support of GIS technology, this article mainly uses the FORTRANlanguage, terrestrial carbon and nitrogen coupling model CEVSA model, correlationanalysis, studied the impact of heat waves on vegetation net primary productivity, themain contents include:①This article mainly used relative threshold method to acquire thedistribution of China’s high-temperature threshold on FORTRAN programming, wehave the maximum number of consecutive days of more than the local threshold as anindicator to acquire the regional and years of heat waves from1956to2005in china.②For1956-2005the average annual NPP distribution and trend analysisstudy, China in the past50years from1956to2005, the average maximum value ofNPP is1496g C/m~2· a, a minimum value is0g C/m~2· a, an average is379g C/m~2· a a.③From the geographical aspects of the various regions of heat waves heatwave occurred on vegetation net primary productivity impact study analysis, draw theheat waves on vegetation net primary productivity has certain inhibition, thencombined with various regions of the precipitation, to study the impact of heat waveson vegetation net primary productivity. The results showed heat waves region in heatwaves year, rainfall in the region has a certain degree of reduction, net primaryproductivity reduced also have some supporting role in the year of region heat wavesoccurred. ④We respectively study forest ecosystems, ecosystem, grassland ecosystem, and the effect of heat waves to Net Primary Productivity in three ecosystems, andanalyze the different heat waves on vegetation net primary productivity in threeecosystems from1956to2005, and analysis heat waves on vegetation net primaryproductivity correlation analysis, if it is obvious to calculate the correlation coefficient. In the present study period, the farmland ecosystem net primary productivity is themost obvious affected by heat waves, followed by grassland ecosystems, forestecosystems is again.
