Linear interpolation and circular interpolation are one of the most commonly applied in the general numerical algorithm, but now they are not applicable due to the special structure of six-axis denture carving machine existing in North China University. There is an A-axis, around X-axis, at a fixed radius and not a Y-axis, which is achieved only by rotating of A-axis, in the six-axis denture carving machine. So it is necessary to solve the linkage between a linear axis and a circular axis basing its own structure.The general dental laboratory process is introduced in this paper. Firstly, the CNC machining process is determined, including selecting the planning methods of the tool path、designing the tool、presenting the calculating steps and speed in detail. Secondly, the mathematical model in the processing including discretization of the curve is established、the kinematic equations of each axis are set up、the processing error is calculated and simulative machining experiments in two-dimensional plane or four-dimensional plane, including the MATLAB simulation and actual machining tests, are done. Thirdly, it also solves the problems about tool blade interference and tip interference are also solved. At the last, a variety of discrete method are compared in this article and the equal error method is selected upon analyzing the structure of machine.It not only provides technical support and theoretical preparation in the field of numerical control algorithm for the domestic dental laboratory equipment, but also makes early preparations for the subject follow-up work in this research.
