The corrosion resistance and processing performance of5182aluminum alloy is good, and the strength of5182aluminum alloy is moderate. It’s widely used as beverage can closure and automotive body sheet. With development of economy, the consumption of can stock is growing quickly, so that the demand of high quality aluminum sheet for can stock is increasing, the manufacture of aluminum sheet for can stock can represent the fabrication level of a nation’s aluminum industry."1+4" hot tandem rolling is a widely used method to produce aluminum sheet, the key point of processing high quality aluminum sheet for can stock is to get enough cube texture after hot tandem rolling. With Gleeble-1500test, optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction and quantitative texture, scanning electronic microscopy, transmission electronic microscopy analysis, micro-hardness measurement, the hot deformation behavior and recrystallization behavior of5182aluminum alloy were studied. The main conclusions are:(1) The hot deformation constitutive equation of5182aluminum alloy was determined and dynamic recrystallization during hot compression was investigated; dynamic recrystallization would occur when the strain rate reach1s-1and deformation temperature above400℃, and the extent of dynamic recrystallization is higher when the deformation temperature increase.(2)The recrystallization kinetic equation of5182aluminum alloy hot-compressed was derived and applied to predict the recrystallization in "1+4" hot tandem rolling. After the first step of hot tandem rolling, the volume fraction of recrystallization was about60%and the volume fraction of recrystallization will less than60%after the second and third step. The recrystallization occurred during hot rolling will reduce the store energy of deformation, but the self-annealing process of5182aluminum alloy can be completed successfully.(3)The evolution of recrystalliztion texture after hot compression was investigated, the recrystalliztion texture was not affected significantly by annealing temperature and total strain, but it was sensitive to deformation temperature, when the deformation temperature was below500℃, the recrystallization texture was weak and ND-cube was the main texture component, and P texture can be observed also, however when the deformation temperature achieve500℃, cube texture was the main component of recrystallization texture, and with the decrease of strain rate, the volume fraction of cube texture increase notable.(4)The mechanism of recrystallization texture evolution was discussed and suggested. The coarse second phase particle was the reason for the recrystallization texture sensitive to deformation temperature, particle stimulation nucleation was able to reduce the opportunity of cube texture evolution. The higher of deformation temperature and the lower of strain rate, the occurrence of PSN was more difficult.
