Organic photochromic materials have been applied popular inoptical lens, car windshield, optical anti-counterfeiting, decoration andwrappers, and attracted more and more interest for their extensiveapplication prospects in optical storage and optical recording. Spiropyranand spirooxazine are two very impotant types of photochromiccompounds, so it’s a very important task to synthesis and properties studyof this two kinds of compounds.On the base of synthesizing3,3-diphenyl-3H-[2,1-b]naphthopyran(NP-1),3,3-diphenyl-6-morpholine-3H-[2,1-b]naphthopyran(NP-2),N-(4-chlorophenyl)-3,3-diphenyl--5-carboxamide-3H-[2,1-b] naph-thopyran(NP-3) and (2-(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)-2-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-9-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)-2H-benzo-[h]chromen-5-yl)methanol(NP-4) these three kinds of new photochromic compounds are alsosynthesized. They were characterized by1H-NMR spectrum,13C-NMRspectrum, ESI-MS spectrum and high-resolution MS spectrum, andthen analyzed the relationships between molecular structure and properties of naphthopyran compounds on the point of view of the crystalstructure’s bond length, bond angle, plane equation and dihedral angleetc.Then we synthesized1,3,3-trimethyl-spiro[2,3’-[3H]-naphtho[2,1-b][1,4]oxazine](SO-1) and1,3,3-Trimethyl-6’-piperidine-spiro [2,3’-[3H]-naphtho[2,1-b][1,4]oxazine], and another unknown photochromiccompound was certified to be a spirooxazine compound similar to theSO-1and SO-2in structure.The synthesized compounds were record on the UV-visibleabsorption spectrum, and the research was carried out on comparing withthe UV-visible absorption spectrum before and after UV irradiation andtesting the fading rate of the photochromic compounds in dark. Then wemade the plastic ophthalmic lens which contain these photochromiccompounds, and the ophthalmic lens which were formed by mixing thedifference photochromic compounds according to the color matchingprinciple, and researched the photochromic properties of the lens interms of the time of show up color and faded, Chromaticity etc. and allphotochromic lens were certified to be good in properties.
