SPSS17.0statistical software used for statistical analysis of data.ResultsThere was no significant differences in indicators between male and female in the same group.Between the young group, the MDA, GABA-T activity of the middle dose control group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.01),while the T-AOC, CAT activity and GABA levels were higher than the young control group(P<0.01);In elderly group,compared with the control group,low,middle and high dose group and the positive control group,MDA content,GABA-T was significantly lower(P<0.01),T-AOC and CAT activity was significantly increased(P<0.01);the GABA content of Middle and high dose group and positive control group was significantly higher than the control group,a significant difference(P<0.01):the GAD activity of low and middle dose groups and positive control group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.01);Between the three dose groups GABA concentration and MDA levels were significantly gradient(P<0.01);elderly group compared with the young group,GABA content was significantly higher,the GAD activity of youth control group was significantly higher than the elderly group,the GABA-T of youth was significantly lower than the old group (P<0.01).Light microscope showed that:the number of internal and external nuclear layer of cells in young rats were more than the older group,and more compact arrangement.Compared with the low dose group and the elderly control group,the10retinal layer structure of the elderly high-dose group and positive control group is more clear,every layer cells arranged is more compact and neatly,cell size in the same layer is more consistent,the cell number of inner nuclear layer and outer nuclear layer is more and more full of forms.ConclusionLycium Chrysanthemum formula can improve the T-AOC, CAT vitality of lens and visual cortex GABA contents, GAD activity at different levels,and decrease the lens MDA content and the visual cortex GABA-T activity.and can protect retinal structure and the inner nuclear layer and outer nuclear layer cells.Lycium Chrysanthemum formula has a protective effect to visual function decline of aged rats.
