Radial-axial ring rolling,based on radial ring rolling,is an advanced plastic forming technique.Comparing with traditional ring forming method,it has many advantages such as saving energy and materials, having high efficiency and good quality.lt has been used in many important industry fileds, such as wind power, railway,aerospace and chemical. Radial-axial ring rolling is a highly nonliner forming process with muti-factors interactive effects.It is very complicate and needs large equipment,so it difficult to making process only based on theoretical calculation and experience accumulation,and this seriously restricts the further develpoment of this technique.Based on axial ring rolling theory,this paper conduct a study on the mechanial and kinematic conditions of radial-axial ring rolling.The stable mechanial conditons and rolling forces and power calculation was prposed,the feed speeds and rotational speeds of rollers was researched and the movement locus of guide rollers was calculated.The research results provided valuable guidelines for rolling parameters selection in ridial-axial ring rolling.Using dynamic explicit finite element method and solving some key problems such as geometry dimension,material properties,contacts,mesh and boundary conditons, this paper made a reliable thermo-mechanial coupled FEM simulation mode for ridial-axial ring rolling.Based on this mode,the design methods of blank,rollers sizes,rollers movements and other process prameters was used to establish valid simulation modes and the effect laws on ridial-aixal ring rolling were researched.The results provided useful guidelines for actual radial-axial ring rolling production.Combine with the ring rolling theory,the FEM simulation and the actual prodution experience,this paper designed CAPP program for radial-axial ring rolling using the visual programing language VC++.This program packed the design methods of blank,rollers sizes,rollers movements and other process prameters,and it highly improved the process design efficiency and the calculation veracity.
