The Period Of Rapid Urbanization In Xi 'an Urban Spatial Extension Analysis Research

The urban space is an interdisciplinary research object. The geography thinksthat urban space refers to the city of the formation of the settlement of the space form,urban space is one of the core contents of urban geography and city planning resarch.Since1990s,China’s economy began to develop rapidly, China is going through aperiod of rapid urbanization. At rapid urbanization period, the urban space expandsquickly,urban land use scale expands unceasingly, while it brings many big citydiseases in the process of forming the big city. In order to solve city diseases,toimprove city planning management level,to offer reference for the practice of cityplanning,guide and control the future urban development direction reasonably,toconfirm reasonable urban spatial structure and the city land use scale,it is necessary tostudy urban space expansion after the rapid urbanization period.Xi’an is an inportant supercity of west China,also one of the cities which startedtheir urbanization early. In recent years, especially since the implementation of thewestern development strategy, the development of Xi’an speeds up,the look of the citychanges with each passing day,Xi’an’s economy has come into a new stage of quickdevelopment. Along with the development of the urbanization,studying the expansionof Xi’an city space of recent20years of rapid urbanization period will have veryimportant guide meaning to Xi’an’s future city layout and coordinated growth,it willmake up the deficiency of the related research at the same time.This paper,from the theoretical analysis and empirical study angle, combinedwith the study of city space power and mode, discusses Xi’an city spatial expansioncharacteristics, spatial expansion mode, influence factors and its power mechanism ofthe rapid urbanization period. After research,I came to the conclusion:since1990s,theexpansion mode of Xi’an city space has changed from the original single centeredstructure layer expansion mode into multi-centered group structure city developmentmode.During the rapid urbanization period,the factors which influence Xi’an cityspatial expansion are rapid development of economy, quick increase of urbanpopulation,draw of urban traffic, adjustment of administrative divisi on, guide of city planning, guidance of national policy and local policy, and the system innovation.
