Power cylinder system consist of piston, piston rings, liner, and oil consumption in this system which is the main part of the whole oil consumption. The current findings have shown that oil consumption has a direct relationship with PM, so to reduce the oil consumption of the engine can reduce particulate emissions. The traditional empirical design occupied too much weight about the piston and piston rings. With the progress of the times, there is required the ability to fast and efficient design of new products and improve old products, and the traditional design approach is clearly unbearable the stresses. By application of modern design methods, to explore the structure parameters of piston, piston rings, cylinder liner on the performance of the engine. By optimized design of the piston, piston rings, cylinder liner, to reduce oil consumption from the sources that make this study sense. This topic took the Piston&Rings software as a platform for the related research, which mainly aims to explore the relations between piston head clearance, cylinder bore match clearance, piston pin offset, ring free gap, back clearance, side clearance, tangential elasticity, liner deformation and oil consumption, blow-by, FMEP of piston and piston rings, piston secondary motion such as, and how to optimize these structural parameters. Although the main purpose is to study how to reduce oil consumption, but the blow-by, FMEP of piston and piston rings, piston secondary motion are the important indicators, not the other, each index is closely related, the ultimate goal is to find a balance in multiple indicators, which oil consumption is the mainly reference, and strive for making the engine performance under the premise of the desired objectives to design optimization. After the study, we obtained the following important conclusions:1. Where possible, should try to reduce the cylinder bore match clearance;2. Optimal piston pin offset between0.5~0.75mm;3. For ring free gap, the greatest impact on oil consumption is the second ring; For back clearance, the greatest impact on oil consumption is the second ring; For side clearance, the greatest impact on oil consumption is the oil ring. For reliable simulation results, the preliminary boundary conditions are essential. There are usually two ways to determine the boundary conditions, by experiment and FEM. Piston stiffness matrix, the piston temperature field, cylinder liner temperature field, liner deformation, are important input parameters in simulation. So, there are some focuses on studying the finite element method for solving the stiffness matrix, discussing the finite element method for solving the liner deformation, exploring the test method with thermocouple for the critical point temperature of the cylinder liner. Combination of test results to solve the cylinder liner three-dimensional temperature field distribution by finite element software, and to make in-depth research and analysis about the cylinder liner heat loads, and has also been a certain regularity conclusion.
