The construction of railway has supplies strong power for our economic development, it’s essential to our economy. Especially the sustainable development of economy needs the guarantee of the railway. In nowadays, the transit of train becomes more fast and heavier with the development of the economy, The amount of the60Kg/m heavy rail is increased ceaselessly, so the request of the heavy rail quality also became higher, the straightness and residual stress of the heavy rail could affects the rate of the qualified rail. So the National Metallurgical Bureau and the Ministry of Railways have made the 《Provisional technical conditions of the60Kg/m heavy rail for the Passenger transport with200km per hour》, it has made the positive quest for the residual stress. Straightening is the last step for the production of the heavy rail, it has highly significant for improving the rate and the quality of the production as we take in-depth study of the straightening process.The heavy rail has to cool off after rolling; the rate of the cooling is different in different place of the heavy rail because of the irregular section. So they may have the bending and the residual stress easily, so we must straightening the heavy rail and reduce the residual stress, in that way, we can get the high quality heavy rail straight and low residual stress.This is based on the elastic-plastic theory and the simulation by computer, it also takes the60Kg/m heavy rail as an example, review the straightening technology and the theory. In that case, the straightening process was study by the above theory, and the nine horizontal roller straightening with the fact and the theory bending curvature and the eleven horizontal roller straightening models are built by computer, after simulation, the results are analyzed based on the straightness in the length direction and the residual stress in the length direction and section. At last, the conclusion that the theory bending curvature could gain the higher quality heavy rail than the fact ones, the residual stress is lower and more symmetrical; we can apply the better straightening process to improve the rate and quality of the production...
