This paper takes a naval gun as its research background. The natural frequency matching analysis and the dynamic characteristics during the firing is studied by the theory of structural dynamics and nonlinear finite element theory, which can assess the gun weapon overall dynamic performance quickly and accurately, and provide reference for the design and optimization of the naval gun.The main content as the follows:(1) After the analysis structure of the naval gun, ignore the tiny structural features which does not affect the structural stiffness and strength, simplify solid models of the various components, then select the appropriate type of element and meshing method, the finite element model is established finally.(2) The nature frequency and mode of vibration of the main components is calculated by Lanczos method, the result is used to find the bad vibration and structural weaknesses. According the date above all, the reasonableness of the frequency matching of the gun is studied from the overall.(3) The nonlinear finite element model of naval gun is established, which focus on the nonlinear connection among components, for example, large displacement slide between barrel and cradle and the contact collision of gears of elevating. The implicit time integration program was applied to calculates the dynamic response during the firing at the condition of0°direction and0°elevation. Otherwise, by using FFT method, the frequency characteristic of displacement and acceleration of the gun barrel vibration was obtained, which help master deep-regulation of barrel vibration.(4) Impacts of the guide clearance and the position of the supports on barrel vibration are obtained by dynamic simulation. The result provide theoretical basis of dynamic design for this weapon system.
