Wind energy is a kind of clean and renewable energy. Wind power becomes one of the most important direction of energy industry in the world in order to solve the global energy crisis and environmental pollution problems. In recent years, wind power technology develops rapidly. VSCF wind turbine types have stabilized. Mainstream models of the current market are brush doubly-fed and direct drive permanent magnet. This paper discusses the control of direct drive permanent magnet synchronous wind power system, which fans with permanent magnet synchronous generator directly coupled. Compared with the doubly-fed wind power system, the direct drive permanent magnet synchronous wind power system eliminates the gearbox, that can reduce the maintenance of the generator and the noise. The wind power system in this paper achieves tracking the best wind power in the range of the rated wind speed by the converter circuit and its advanced control strategies. In recent years, the application of direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous wind power generation system is wider and wider.This paper mainly describes several technologies of direct drive permanent magnet synchronous wind power generation system based on back-to-back dual-PWM. It also studies the control strategy of direct drive synchronous wind power system, including the best wind energy tracking control technology, several control technologies and analysis of back-to-back dual-PWM converter control strategy. The direct drive permanent magnet synchronous wind power generation system is simulated with the MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation software, that plays a guiding role in the design and practice of the actual system. Finally, the experimental platform of direct drive permanent magnet synchronous wind power generation system is built based on DSP, and it realizes the hardware and software implementation. Good debugging experimental results show that the control platform is built successfully.
