In this dissertation, whose title is’Study on the effect of mass abrasion of ogive-nose projectile during penetrating into concrete targets’, the effect of mass abrasion of ogive-nose projectile during penetrating into concrete target by high-velocity was studied by using the theoretical analysis, experimental research and numerical simulation. The main idea is that the dynamical response of projectile during penetrating is approximated by an analytical forcing function of concrete target dynamical response with the cavity expansion theory. And simulate the variation of projectile shape combining with the modified Archard wear model. Find that the shape of residual projectile, the depth of penetration (DOP) and mass loss of projectile obtained by calculation are in good tallies with the corresponding experimental results. This paper mainly consists of following parts:1. Study on the dynamical response of the projectile during penetrating into concrete targetBased on the characteristics of projectile penetrating into the concrete target, we can use an analytical forcing function of concrete target dynamical response with the cavity expansion instead of the concrete target responding by the projectile, whose yield criteria is Mohr-Coulomb criteria. In order to validate the accuracy of the force function, simulate the process of the cavity expanding by the finite element software, and comparative analyze the radial stress of the cavity with the value by cavity expansion theory, when the cavity is expanding by a stabile velocity.2. Study and analyze the model and the result of the mass abrasion about projectile based on modified Archard wear theoryComparing die wear with the mass abrasion of the projectile, and analyzing the special surroundings about projectile penetrating concrete targets, find Archard wear model could be applied to the mass abrasion of the projectile. Combining with the idea of studying the projectile and the target respectively, and applying the forcing function about the concrete target dynamical response before, obtain the abrasion formula about the particle of the projectile contour during penetrating. Based on the modified Archard wear model and discretization theory, get the differential model and then program the finite differential code about the evolutionary projectile contour. According as the result of the finite differential code, analyze the dynamical response and mass abrasion of the projectile while penetrating with experiment result. Finally, the prediction results of the modified Archard wear model on mass abrasion of projectile are agreement with the results from experiment.3. Numerical simulation the effect of the mass abrasion of ogive-nose projectile during projectile penetrating into concrete targetIn order to reconstruct the process of projectile penetrating into concrete target, with using the capacity of LS-DYNA software as nonlinearity dynamics finite element software, simulate the process of the projectile impacting concrete target by different impacting velocities, with the constitutive models of Johnson-Cook(JC) and Holmqnist Johnson Concrete(HJC) as the material models of projectile and concrete. And comparing the simulation results with the experiment results, emphatically analyze the mass abrasion of the projectile.
