Accelerate the development and utilization of new energy is the only way to solve the energy and environmental issues, and wind power as the most mature technology, competitive and promising new energy is paid more and more attention all over the world. For wind power generation system is a complex energy conversion system, wind power converter development and control technology researches need a large number of test studies. It is necessary to develop a wind power generation simulation system in the lab without natural wind resource and actual wind turbines when studying technologies in wind energy conversion systems. It can enhance the research and design quality, and save fund. Therefore, the construction of wind power simulation platform has become the key of wind power generation studies in laboratory, it is of great significance to the promotion of wind power research.Firstly, this paper introduces the significance of wind power simulation system, as well as domestic and foreign current situation of this issue, and analyzes the basic principle and structure of the wind power simulation system, a lOkW half-direct-drive permanent magnet wind power simulation platform built on this basis. The test platform suitable for the study of the static characteristics of the wind turbine, but the dynamic characteristics failed to meet experimental requirements. For the lack of dynamic characteristics of the platform, the paper analyzes the dynamic characteristics of the wind turbine, including the large moment of inertia of the wind turbine characteristics, the effects of wind shear and tower shadow. It further studies the large moment of inertia characteristics which greatly affects the dynamic characteristics of the wind turbine,and presents the large moment of inertia compensation scheme of the wind turbine simulation. In addition, this article also studies the induction motor torque control technology for the torque output of wind turbine simulation, analyzes the defects of direct torque control and proposes a solution for torque control of wind turbine simulation. Finally the article gives improved design of wind power simulation platform, the improved platform design closer to the dynamic characteristics of the actual wind turbine, and more wind power test research can be carried out in the experimental platform.This paper focuses on wind power simulation system to build a wind power simulation platform, and some design improvements have been made on the basis of this platform, which enhances the simulation effect of the wind power simulation system and provide a useful reference for wind power simulation.
