Currently, development and application of energy is an important issue andthe use of clean energy R&D to lithium battery as the representative hasattracted international attention. Therefore this article has conducted the researchand design of lithium battery management system.This paper first briefly introduces the research status, developmentprospects of lithium battery at home and abroad, the design of the Li-ion batterymanagement scheme: charging, battery SOC estimation method and lithiumbattery equalization management scheme. Then it develops the hardware circuitscheme, including a fly-back switching power supply, a data acquisition circuitthe battery voltage, current and temperature detecting circuit and batteryequalization management circuit, and adopts modularized programming methodto realize the function of BMS, besides, the programming flow chart of mainprogram is given.This paper mainly includes the management of charging battery, batteryresidual quantity group (State of Charge) equilibrium management estimation.Charging management is using pulse fast charging, and the charging process willbe divided into three stages: pre charging, constant-current charging and pulsecharging, as well as the control scheme of multiple parameters for charging thelithium battery charging ensures the controllability, reliability of the method; theopen circuit voltage and charge and discharge rate of compensation of theampere-hour measurement make up the defects in SOC existing for ampere-hourmeasurement, in order to improve the SOC estimation accuracy; equilibriummanagement scheme to design a practical equalization circuit is used in thispaper, and the circuit structure is simple, reliable operation.The running results show that the battery management system (BMS)designed in the paper can monitor, protect and manage the lithium battery packeffectively, and design of software and hardware circuit is also working well,meeting requirements of the design.
