Jinan City Traffic Problems And Countermeasures Research

As the capital city and one of the important cities in Bohai Economic Circle, Jinan Citywitnesses the rapid social and economic development and urbanization. Meanwhile, thehighly concentrated urban population brings a series of problems, such as problems ofresource shortage, environment, housing and employment, etc. Traffic problem is one of themost highlighted problems among them. Population concentration brings about high trafficlevel, however, the urban transportation planning, development and management arerelatively lagging behind. Currently, most of the Chinese big cities are encountered withtraffic congestions. Under these circumstances, the thesis analyzes the current situation andthe causes of Jinan’s traffic problem from the perspective of new public management, adoptsthe advanced transportation experiences from domestic and foreign cities, including the cityorientation, traffic strategy, functional zoning, road network planning, public transportation,parking system and the improvement of traffic management etc,., and puts forward effectivecountermeasures to solve the problems of urban transportation.The thesis is divided into five parts. The research background, purpose and relevant domesticand foreign situations are analyzed in the introduction (Chapter1). The Chapter2deals withthe basic theories and focuses on the theories and features of urban transportation and newpublic management. The Chapter3to Chapter5is the main body. The Chapter3describes thecurrent situations of Jinan’s urban transportation and analyzes the traffic problems and causes.The Chapter4introduces the effective domestic and foreign countermeasures and methods tothe traffic problems. Chapter5puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions onpromoting the transportation development and solving traffic problems of Jinan from theaspects of city orientation, transportation strategy, functional zoning, land use, road networksystem planning and public transportation improvement, etc.,.
