PurposeThis subject takes EA as a means of intervention to study the affect of acupuncture on promoting injury in skeletal muscle recovery in biomechanics by measuring mechanical properties of Materials and histomorphometric observation, and to provide new ideas for exploring the mechanism of acupuncture treatment of skeletal muscle injury.MethodSelection of120adult SD rats, body weight, randomly divided into the blank group, control group and acupuncture group, combat plus centrifugal are used in modeling to control group and acupuncture group.Followed by drawn at different time points including immediate,1w2w and3w, every time in each group were taken10. Limit load, maximum elongation, stiffness and other mechanical indicators of bilateral gastrocnemius are measured. Observed by light microscopy with HE staining tissue sections. Using SPSS statistical software for data process analysis and testing.Result1. A local pathological organization have been observed:immediate control group HE staining tissue sections:the muscle cell increases, the shape and size are irregular, visible around the increased muscle cells there are a relatively small, irregularly shaped and disorganized cells, gap between the muscle cells are large, muscle fibers have different thickness, varying degrees of connective tissue proliferation, the formation of adhesions, contracture nodules.2. The number of skeletal muscle cells under a light microscope view:at each time point in each group by light microscopy the Perspective of the number of skeletal muscle cells compared with blank group, and the difference was significant (P<0.01) and statistically significant. The two weeks acupuncture group and the three weeks acupuncture group than the control group the number of cells at the same time point (P>0.05), with significant difference.3. Limit load:immediate control group and the instant the acupuncture group compared with the blank group (P<0.01), with statistical significance. Limit load of the two weeks acupuncture group than the two weeks control group limit load (P<0.05), reaching91.62%of the two weeks blank group (P>0.05), with statistical significance; three weeks time point each group do not have the significant difference (P>0.05).4. Maximum elongation:immediate control group and the instant acupuncture group compared with blank control group (P<0.01), with significant difference. The maximum elongation of the one week acupuncture group than the one week control group (P<0.05),89.75%of the one week blank group (P>0.05), with statistical significance; three weeks time point among each group not statistically significant (P>0.05).5. Stiffness:immediate control group, even if the stiffness of the acupuncture group compared with the blank group (P<0.05) were statistically significant; the two weeks acupuncture group than in the two weeks control group of low stiffness (P<0.05), a statistically significance; the rest of the time among each group do not have the statistically different (P>0.05).ConclusionAfter a week Electro-acupuncture treatment, the tensile properties of injured skeletal muscle began to recover; keep electro-acupuncture treatment till two weeks, the restore of the tensile properties is obvious.
