Objective To explore the relationship between Osterix (OSX) and the remodeling ofperiodontal tissue via observing the expression of OSX in rats periodontal ligamentsduring the orthodontic tooth movement.Methods54male SD rats were randomly divided into9groups, according to toothmovement time points of0,3,6,12,24h and3,5,7,14d. The orthodontic appliancewas placed between the upper left first molar and the upper incisors of each rat, whilethe right upper first molar as the control group. OSX expression in the tissue of eachrat was determined by the immunohistochemical SABC method. Results In the control group, OSX expressed at a low level in the rat periodontalligament. While in the experimental group, OSX expression in periodontal tissuechanged during orthodontic tooth movement, and reached the maximum after5d,furthermore, the OSX immunoreactivity was higher at the tension side than that at thecompression side. Conclusion OSX activity changed regularly and played an important role in theremodeling of periodontal tissue during orthodontic tooth movement. Objective To observe the distribution and change of ATF4in periodontal tissueunderstand the role of ATF4in orthodontic tooth movement and the relationshipbetween Osterix and ATF4.Methods54male SD rats were randomly divided into9groups, according to toothmovement time points of0,3,6,12,24h and3,5,7,14d. The orthodontic appliancewas placed between the upper left first molar and the upper incisors of each rat, whilethe right upper first molar as the control group. Osx expression in the tissue of eachrat was determined by the immunohistochemical SABC method. Results In the control group, ATF4expressed at a low level in the rat periodontalligament. While in the experimental group, ATF4expression in periodontal tissuechanged during orthodontic tooth movement, and reached the maximum after7d,decreased in14d. furthermore, the ATF4immunoreactivity was higher at the tensionside than that at the compression side. Conclusion ATF4activity changes regularly and may play an important role inremodeling of periodontal tissue during orthodontic tooth movement. ATF4mayparticipate in reconstruction of the periodontal tissue in later stage.
