ObjectiveUsing cone beam computed tomography(CBCT) to assess the width of the buccal bone wall alterations before and after immediate implant in the maxillary central incisor with bone augmentation over the same periodMaterials and Method12patients from2010to2011, with minimally invasive removal of a maxillary central incisor and immediate implant with bone grafting, using Cone Beam CT before surgery (T1) the natural teeth’s buccal wall, after sugery (T2) and after six mouth (T3).The midsagittal cut of each teeth and implant was identified, and measurements were made at predetermined levels. Horizontal facial bone thickness (HFBT) was measured at4,6,9, and12mm apical to the adjacent teeth cemento—enamel junction line (CEJ). Record data of the difference of facical bone thickness and vertical changes, analysis using SSPS12.0statistical software.ResultsAnalysis of12patients taken CBCT images. At T1the buccal bone wall thickness at4mm apical to CEJ is0.74±0.28mm, at6mm apical to CEJ is0.84±0.31mm, at8mm apical to CEJ is0.87+0.35mm, at10mm apical to CEJ is0.88±0.35. At T2the buccal bone wall thickness at4mm apical to CEJ is2.48±0.22mm; at6mm apical to CEJ is2.38±0.12mm; at8mm apical to CEJ is2.27±0.22mm; at10mm apical to CEJ is2.06±0.30mm. At T3the buccal bone wall thickness at4mm apical to CEJ is1.98±0.22mm; at6mm apical to CEJ is1.95±0.21mm; at8mm apical to CEJ is1.88±0.16mm; at10mm apical to CEJ is1.69±0.32. Facial bone vertical changes:T2-T1is1.28±0.17mm; T3-T2is-0.98±0.12mm.Conclusion Bone augmentation procedures are effective in promoting bone fill and defect resolution in peri-implant defects following immediate placement Bone augmentation procedures are successful in combination with immediate (type1) placement Bone augmentation combined with immediate placement reduce horizontal resorption.
