PurposeTo explore the clinical effect of percutaneous radiological gastrostomy (PRG) to advanced esophageal obstruction patients.Methods15cases advanced esophageal carcinoma patients were treated by PRG,and the therapeutic effects were observed.Patients were followed until death or till now.ResultsAll the15cases were succeeded for the first time and took five to ten minutes respectively.One case incision infection,and one oozed blood.All patients had no severe complications.Follow-up till now showed that nine of15cases were dead(one complicated with pulmonary infection died at4months after the operation,the other eight died of multi-organ failure in9-24months postoperatively),the others were well fed through gastrostomy tube.ConclusionPRG has the characters of simple convenient use,high safety and few complications,and is suitable for advanced esophageal cancer and esophageal obstruction patients..
