| The concept of task switching is an important concept in the executive function. In thestudy of task switching, the Switch cost is a major concern，and already achieved some importantresults in the Switch cost. The main of the task switching paradigms are: Jersild’s method,alternating-runs paradigm, task-cueing paradigm and intermittent-instruction paradigm. In theresearch of the Switch cost, gradually formed several different theoretical. task-setreconfiguration, task-set priming/associative retrieval, task-set inertia are three more maturetheory. But the study of task switching is still conducting. Controversy still exists on the Switchcost. Many scholars still keep finding the essence of the Switch cost.This study focused on the foreknowledge on the impact of the task switch. In this study, Bycontrolling the foreknowledge is the same recognizable， give foreknowledge a certain"meaning"，to survey different foreknowledge whether affecting task switching. The "meaning"of the foreknowledge on task switching is the main concern of the research questions. In thisstudy, there are two experiments. The first experiment giving foreknowledge a certain "meaning"to explore the "meaning" foreknowledge whether affect the Switch cost. The second experimentby manipulating the reaction to cues time, to study the role of foreknowledge.According to the results of the two experiments, draw the following conclusions:(1)Repetitive tasks and switching tasks are two different process, on tow foreknowledge condition,the average reaction time of the repetitive tasks significantly higher than the switching task.(2) Foreknowledge can facilitate the processing speed of repetitive task and switch task, Thedifference was not significant.(3)"meaning" foreknowledge switching cost is higher than in the no "meaning" switching cost.Integrated previous experimental with the conclusions of this study, in the task switchingprocess, foreknowledge of the endogenous control affect the previous task set inhibition. |
