In this essay, four classes of non-English major students in grade one from one college in our province are chosen as research objects, they are divided into two groups, taking two classes as the experimental group, the other two as the control group, then the experiments will be carried out for oral English teaching by means of e-portfolio assessment. In order to do a feasibility study for applying e-portfolio assessment in our college oral English class. During the research, the subjects from these two groups are tested by combining with qualitative and quantitative research methods. Pretest and posttest data are utilized to analyze through SPSS, classified analysis method is used to analyze relevant materials. The aim is to explore whether oral English e-portfolio assessment can play a role in promoting and improving college students’oral English. The results proved that experimental group has no obvious increase for the oral English competence in comparing with the control group, but the experimental group had made progress and improvement in terms of confidence to speak English, accuracy of English language and communication skills, and in the spoken language learning, more peer-assessment and self-reflection happened in experimental group, then the teachers’role also has changed under this new platform and learning environment. As a teaching method or assessable mode, the e-portfolio assessment has been proved a positive and effective means for college English instruction, and it can be applied in further oral English study.
