Language contact is an important cause of the development and change of language. Language contact research is a significant content in acknowledging language structure and language evolution. In new Era, language contact research in multiethnic areas is in-depth and extensive, and has achieved fruitful results. While the research in areas of only one minority is relatively limited. It also has important value, which not only enables us to have a more comprehensive understanding of the degree of contact of two languages, and can more reliably predict the future development trend of the language, to provide a reference for the protection of language, and have both theoretical and practical significance. In this paper, I concentrate on language contact of Zhaojue County.Zhaojue County is one representative county inhabited by the Yi people, the population of Yi accounted for97.4%of the total population, three Yi dialects (Yinuo, Shengzha, Suodi) coexist in the ground. Because of long-term exchanges and contacts with the Han people and was once the capital of Liangshan Prefecture, Yi Language and Chinese contact is more extensive. Under the influence of Chinese, Yi language has been changed both in structure and using domain. The definite details are as follows:In the religious activities, Yi language is critical; in family activities, bilingual tendency is evident and Chinese usage increased gradually; in work, education, media and other fields, Chinese is the critical and vital language. As to the structure of Yi language, there are many Chinese loanwords; phonetic change is only found in loanwords; the syntactic change is rare. The mother tongue level of Youth in Yi nationality is apparently has a clear downward trend.It is obvious that Zhaojue County has become a typical bilingual community, mainly because Yi and Chinese has long-term, oral, direct, and slightly stronger contact, as well as Chinese culture penetration and influence, people’s language attitudes and concepts are also the main factors. If Yi want to protect their language better, bilingual education should be strengthened. It is also necessary for the government to take effective measures to adjust and improve relevant policies, at the same time, enhance the sense of preserving ethnic culture among Yi people is indispensable.
