| As a type of popular folk dance in Northern Shaanxi Province, waist-drum is used to entertain others and themselves after hard work by the people for generations, who live in the northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau. Ansai Drum is a uniqueness of Northern Shaanxi with a history of more than two thousand years, which is rare flower of Loess Plateau for its special artistic appeal,enjoyed great reputation of Chinese first drum. So Ansai county is known as Waist-Drum Town. Why can Ansai Drum be practiced for thousand of years from the frontier fortress in Qin Dynasty to the New York city, from the dusty farmyard to the grand Asian Games court? With analyzing the vitality of Ansai Drum, this paper tries to illustrates why its can keep vigorous through thousands years from the perspectives of literary theory, dance morphology, culturology.The introduction includes the research origin, the background,the purpose and the significance. In this part, we introduced the thesis theme and starting point by the analysis of existing research achievements and the review of research on Ansai Drum at home. The first chapter, the artistic forms and charm were discussed from the origin of Waist-drum, Wen-drum and Wu-drum, March-drum and Ground-drum in order to generally introduce the origin of Ansai Drum and its the unique features formed over several thousand years. The second chapter, from the three perspectives of Chinese cultural background, folk customs of Northern Shaanxi, and red culture, analyzed the vitality of Ansai Drum and explained the reason of that Ansai Drum is still keeping vigorous in the land through several thousand years, even going towards the world. In the third chapter, the conclusion, Ansai Drum as one of Chinese folkdance is valuable treasure left by history, and it also can be seen as the choice of history. Today, this ancient and young folkdance form is faced with new opportunities and changes. It is double circumstance or opportunity for Ansai Drum to carry on the past and open up the future, that how to fit the requirements of current audience’s aesthetics, and how to make this folkdance agree with the development of local economy and society. |
