In this paper,the rickshaw refers to the rickshaw andtricycle.Rickshaws, was be known as the rickshaw in Shanghai. In1874,it first appeared in the French concession. In the Pacific War, it began todecline, and the manpower vehicle derivatives--manpower tricyclerise. The amount of the both fluxed. In1946, Shanghai conducted alarge-scale eliminated work of rickshaws, but it was not successful, andthen, the task falled on the shoulders of the Chinese Communist party.At the beginning of new China, Shanghai had no ability to developmodern automotive industry and had to rely on manpower tricyclerickshaw to maintain the public traffic. Shanghai will set up rickshawand manpower tricycle Management merge, the establishment of theShanghai human tricycle rental business association preparatorycommittee, responsible for the management of human vehicle industry,as well as the Shanghai municipal trade union human tricycle branch,responsible for the management of the human operator, to maintainShanghais traffic order. It marked that the first large-scale human car out ofwork has gained the victory after the founding of new China, and alsomarked that the Shanghai transportation went from the halfmechanization to mechanization.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part is the introduction,introduces the research object and research significance; the second part is the theme of the article, divided into four chapters: the firstchapter describes the initial founding, manpower vehicle status. Thesecond chapter, introduced the1949-1954manpower vehiclemanagement. The third chapter, elaborated the frist process ofeliminated work of rickshaws after the founding of new China (1955-1956). The fourth chapter, discusses the human operator s job situation.The third part is the conclusion, objectively evaluate the historical statusof manpower vehicle.At present, although the human vehicle research results in a rich,the founding of the manpower vehicle selection process involves little,even if there are scattered in different papers and books, and no morecomplete study. Therefore, I hope that collecting a large number ofhistorical data, the elimination process research and analysis, andmaking an objective evaluation offers valuable experience and lessonfor the present government management city traffic job.
