Survival and development is the eternal pursuit of mankind, adaption is alwaysbeing concerned. As a member of society, when people enter a new environment there isalways a adaption especially after a disaster. Because the disaster is an event that spreadof a sudden with coming unexpectedly and uncontrollable.It will force the victims within a very short period of time quickly suffered a seriesof great changes of social life. Their original social relations were destroyed, and thenew state of the social life and the social economy need to build. The psychologicalreconstruction process after disaster is actually helping the affected groups for socialadaptation process. To obtain and maintain a sense of control over the individual will behelpful for the adaptation process. In this way surviving and adaption can be seen as theresults of control.The study chooses secondary school teachers who had been suffered the Wenchuanearthquake as the research object. Using the methods of questionnaire and experiment tocollect data of their social adaptability, sense of control and control strategy using. Afteranalysing the data there comes out the relationship of individual social adaptability andcontrol strategy using. Make an experiment to prove that individual social adaptationcan be changed after their control strategy intervention.The main results are as follows:(1) The adaptation of the teachers who suffered from the earthquake performs wellin social relationship and customs adaptation, but bad in environmental adaptation anddaily life adaptation.(2) The performance of adaptation of the teachers who suffered from theearthquake is different of the gender and environment changing. Female’s socialadaptation level is higher than the male’s; the individual’s with no environment changingis higher than the others.(3) There is an obviously relationship with the social adaptation and the sense ofcontrol.(4) The teachers who prefer using primary control strategy has a better performance on social adaptation; the teachers who prefer using back-feed controlstrategy has a better performance on social adaptation.(5) There is an obviously relationship with the social adaptation and the number ofmaster control strategy.
