Gu Qiyuan Research

Gu Qiyuan (顾起元)(1565-1628), the people of Jiangning（江宁）, whois upright and noble，with high prestige in the court and the folk，haslearned knowledge and rich works. His literary creation and artisticfeatures have a typical significance and an important position in thelate Ming dynasty. This paper carried out research on Gu Qiyuan’sfamily background, biographies, acquaintanceship and his poems andarticles, try to supplement the existing limitations of the study, and seeka breakthrough.It is composed of four chapters:The first chapter mainly carried out research on Gu Qiyuans familybackground. Based on the knowledge of a person and his time, startingfrom the first-hand documentation, this paper makes a detailedinvestigation into his family and descent, and draws a four-generationfamily lineage. On this foundation, this paper started to explore thereasons for the thriving of their fame, and pointed that the migrationfrom Kunshan(昆山) to Nanking(南京), the unique family tradition andcultural atmosphere, prosperous economic conditions and the widerange of acquaintanceship promoted and prompted the Gussuccess.The second chapter carried out research on the biographies of GuQiyuan and his acquaintanceship. Academia has been carried outsome research on Gu Qiyuans biographies at present, but a lot ofinformation has the" Gu Qiyuan named Pei" statement, by seeking thecomprehensive gazetteers and Gus related works, they are carried outin the name of Gu Qiyuan, points out that the statement" Gu Qiyuannamed Pei " is not really true. The second segment makes a textualstudy on Gu Qiyuan’s acquaintanceship. In order to know Gu Qiyuan’activities and historical status well, the author especially complies the Chronological Life of Gu Qiyuan in the third segment by used thefirst-hand documentation.The third chapter mainly discusses Gu Qiyuans poetics, which theacademia has been mentioned but rarely discussed. Discussion andanalysis of the writings of Gu Qiyuan, poetics, analysis of the mainfeeling that Gu Qiyuan s interpretation of poetry, science, and therelationship between poetry and Zen. On the other hand, in the case ofTang ages, Gu Qiyuan on the retro imitate wind criticism and its view ofTang poetry.The fourth chapter mainly carried out research on the Gu Qiyuanpoems and articals. Based on scholars of Gu Qiyuan writings mentionmuch but on its specific analysis in less, from the Nanjing regionaltraditional culture and city culture factor of two point system, in-depthanalysis of Gu Qiyuans cultural implication.
