Since the Opium War, China began the modern movement, gonethrough the stage of "learning technology in the Western" learningWestern artifacts at first, and then committed to "change politics" tolearn the Western political system. After the Republic found, thepolitics of China has not embarked on the democratic track, intellectuals began to think that the real problem is cultural. So MayFourth Movement t germinal at Republic eight years and the NewCulture Movement rise, and fierce opposition of Confucianism as themainstream of traditional Chinese culture. New Culture Movementheld up both sides of the banner of Mr. Jude and Mr. science, negatedChinese traditional culture mainstream Confucianism fundamentally. In this context, Liang Shuming stand up and re-advocated by theConfucian tradition firstly, he speech “Eastern and Western cultureand its philosophy” at Republic of nine or ten year.he competed withthe westernized trend directly. He revised a modernNeo-Confucianism therefore. The modern states agree with the concept of freedom, equalitymostly, also admitted that the road of freedom and democracy is thecountry’s future political development toward. China is alsoinevitable democratic transition. This is the only way out of Chinesepolitical system modern construction. The Representatives of themodern Neo-Confucianism agree with the value of the ChineseConfucian tradition in contemporary basically. They agreed with theconcept of modern liberal democracy mostly and committed to findthe foundation of the democratic and political construction from the Confucian tradition. Liang Shuming and Hsu Fu-kuan is the mostdetailed and systematic about discourse. The one is conservatism onthe culture, and political liberal. The other one walk between theacademic and political, he uses traditionalism to discourse thinkingand uses liberalism to discourse political. Their starting points areexactly the same, attitude of the political and cultural are similar. Both were committed to find out common with freedom anddemocracy building from the Confucian tradition, to guide thebuilding of Political Democracy in China. But the two men reached adifferent conclusion based on the common goal of the effortLiang Shuming that China can not take the road of freedom anddemocracy in modern Europe. Hsu Fu-kuan thinks there are a lot ofsupport on the concept of freedom and democracy in the Confuciantradition. Why Liang Xu, People’s Subjective is different. Which partof the two ideas is reasonable, and which is not? By researching thecomparison of the two democratic ideas, and then we can explorewhat factors can really support the concept of democracy in theConfucian tradition, and what elements do not support theconstruction of democratic politics. For the Confucian tradition tosupport the concept of democratic and political construction, we haveto draw reasonable of course, but for the Confucian tradition can notsupport the concept of democratic and political construction, whatour attitude towards should be?We should that completely orobjective analysis of the others make it way? This is also a problemneed to think about seriously, so comparing the democratic idea oftwo people can help to grasp and evaluation of the two viewpointsobjective and comprehensively, and also a useful perspective toexplore way out of the plight of the Confucian tradition in China’s democratic transition.By comparing Liang Xu of democratic ideas, I draw conclusionsthat Liang Shuming thought the spirit of the conditions of China andthe West are different, can not walk through the road of freedom anddemocracy in the West, have to build their own democratic politicalthrough rural development. But Hsu Fu-kuan had discover thefreedom and democracy a valuable resource from Confucian HumanNature and rule of virtue concept. The author analyzes why the twopoints are different, and thinks the difference of the background ofthe life of Liang Xu duo have a greater impact on the formation ofdemocratic ideas, Western liberal democratic idea of multivariatecauses Liang Xu two viewpoints too. The complexity of theConfucian tradition itself lead to Liang Xu viewpoints are biased. Weshould use objective and comprehensive attitude towards the twodemocratic ideas of Liang Xu. to learn from reasonable part of itspoint of view and cautious in dealing with the One-sided point ofview. On this basis, I think we should be careful about now"Confucianism fever" phenomenon, Useful ideas to improve personalvirtue we should use to improve the personal accomplishment, Thereversion of the Confucianism tradition in the political sphere, weneed also to be treated with caution, and do not exaggerate its role onthe political level about useful point of view of liberal democracy, toabsorb and learn from them critically.
