" Vocal Music Theory",written by Yan Nanzhi in the Yuan Dynasty, is the first workson the Art of Singing and it is regarded as a milestone in the process of Chinese VocalPerformance Art development."Vocal Music Theory" made a significant impact ontraditional Chinese opera and the vocal music theory and practice. The concept “cleararticulation, singing according to the word "and" enunciate " required incontemporary ethnic vocal learning is largely inherited and developed the view “trulyword, solidly sentence, according to chamber, affixed to the tune, mellow sound, fullcavity "in “Vocal Music Theory".This paper is aim to explore the practicalsignificance and function of the theory "word""cavity" in “Vocal Music Theory" inthe modern national vocal music art through the interpretation of "word""cavity"theory in “Vocal Music Theory", combining with my own learning and artisticpractice of national vocal music.
