Intermediate Stage Students Chinese Vocabulary Learning Strategies

Based on the existing researches, combined with some thought and survey for the vocabulary acquisition of the learners who take Chinese as a second language, this study tries to explore something from the statistics analysis. It turns out to be:(1) All the five strategies are adopted commonly in the Chinese vocabulary learning, the flexible applying one is used most frequently;(2) There’s significant difference among learners from different nationalities on social and affective strategy, resource strategy.no significant difference on other variables. There’s significant difference on the social and affective strategy(at the level of0.05) between the European&American learners and the Japanese learners, between the European&American learners and the Korean learners.(3) The multiple comparison result shows that there’s significant difference (at the level of0.05) on the meta-cognitive strategy, social and affective strategy for different level learners(low level, middle level, high level) which when different level learners use to learn Chinese vocabularies, on the cognitive strategy and flexible applying strategy, there’s significant difference (at the level of0.05) between the high level group and low level group, between the high level group and middle level group. On the resource strategy, there’s significant difference between the the low level group and high level group, between the low level group and middle level group.(4) Among the five strategies, meta-cognitive strategy, social and affective strategy, cognitive strategy are high level related, the resource strategy and the flexible applying strategy are middle level related with the learning scores.
