Even some scholars dedicated their life to the study of spiritual realm for the character of Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu. In accordance with the statement of Abnormal Psychology, bad characters of the figure in "Dream of Red Mansions" are mostly "psychopathic personality" as well. In order to reveal these "bad character" natures, the relations between pathological personality and psychopathic personality in abnormal psychology must be resolved first. And the final release of psychopathic personality, means of expression, spiritual values and cultural origins in the description of "A Dream of Red Mansions" is to be resolved with the knowledge-assisted analysis of psychopathic personality theory. It could construct a bridge between the "psychopathic personality" and "noble character" finally.The thesis is divided into four chapters.In the first chapter, it will group the six common pathological personality types in "A Dream of Red Mansions" into the three types of psychopathic personality which is called Fengdian, Juanjie and Chibing. Then it will be discussed.In the second chapter, it will analyze how interpersonal description, description of the natural environment and dreamland could manifest the three psychopathic personality which frequently appeared in "A Dream of Red Mansions".In the third chapter, it will reveal the spiritual connotation for three psychopathic personalities in "A Dream of Red Mansions" from the spirit of anti-secular, anti-Confucianism, advocating freedom, equality, and fraternity.In the fourth chapter, it will take over how Chinese cultural tradition influences the psychopathic personality description in "A Dream of Red Mansions".Finally, it will argue for the character in "A Dream of Red Mansions" and vigorously advocate their "Freak" spirit, with the conclusion in the opinion of the French scholar Michel Foucault.
