The proportion of the human body in sculptural reflected two different modeling standards. The first one is based on concept modeling of imitating nature, sculpture of human proportion imitate real proportion to establish the proportion of scientific, aesthetic, philosophica. Ancient Greek discovered the golden ratio in the human body based on the arithmetic concept of harmony, and was widely applied to the sculpture and architecture. Renaissance masters brought personal genius into full creative play in the revival of classical foundation, and later build the perfect ratio of standards as a model. Another modeling concept is to inhibit the imitation of nature-based. This modeling concept also has relationship with the imitation of nature, but many places clearly reveal imitate inhibition.Such as exaggerated and distorted sculpture completely divorced from the real proportion of the human body, which is prevalent in the original ethnic and religious arts. Different proportion of sculpture body is quite the different because of different modeling concept, but we can derive enjoyment of art. This difference reflects human have empathy and abstract psychological needs, which reflected in the difference between realism and deformation in sculptural.Proportion as the most prominent modeling features reflects this difference. The proportion problem is that the modeling problem. From the development of art history, the modeling changes reflected in the change of realism and deformation. This change decided by the Western philosophical monism. Through the study of human proportion in sculpture, we clearly see the expression of an artistically inclined. It reflects the evolution of art in a more determined manner. This is not only concentrated an artistically inclined, but also a perfect view of the world.
