Sergey Sergeyevich Prokofiev is one of the Soviet Union greatest pianist,composer, and conductor in the twentieth century. During his life, he contributed over130pieces of music,which covers almost all the music styles. Sonata is Prokofiev’sfavorite subject, nine piano sonata throughout his more than forty years’ writing life,which can be valued as the masterpieces of piano music considering the structure,content, and skills. Among them, the NO.6, NO.7, and NO.8piano sonata in hislater years are the most representative works. The development situation ofinternational music in Prokofiev’s later period, composition style, background of threewar sonatas, musical form, musical style, and technical difficulty and solution tostudy and play three sonatas are analyzed and summarized in detail.
