Born in a music family in1949which saw the foundation of the PRC, AnlunHuang is a famous Chinese contemporary musician, conductor, and educator. He isalso well known as a composer in the west. Piano wasforbidden as a symbol of nobility and the bourgeoisie. It was hard for composers tocreate music. As a consequence, some of them adapted Chinese classical music or folkmusic to piano music.“Prelude and Dance Music” by Anlun Huang is one of theexcellent original works in this period.“Prelude and Dance Music” was created in1974,it was known by people until Liu Shikun premiered in Beijing by the year1977,and soon be published by The People’s Music Publish.Restricted by the politicalenvironment and external factors,the genuine piano original production is very limited.“Prelude and Dance Music” is a valuable production.Nowadays, the study of Anlun Huang and his work is little at home and abroad. I did some research in “Prelude and Dance Music”, analyzed the background andidentity of it and gradually grasped the stylistic features and playing skills so thatpiano players and professionals can get a further understanding of it and love Chineseworks more.
