As the media used for psychological warfare besides conventional weaponsduring the Korean War, a large number of elaborately wrought leaflets weredelivered to Chinese People’s Volunteer Army. To analyze the main themes and thestrategies of these leaflets would be helpful to understand the nature of them as wellas the opinion the U.S. troops hold. Firstly, the paper reviews literature concerningthe leaflets used in Korean War. And the virtues and flaws of them are discussed.Based on the available materials collected which were written in Chinese andproduced between1950and1953, this paper then analyzes the leaflets in groupsdivided by their themes, and makes quantitative analysis to explore the inclinationthe U.S. troops had. Then, it makes efforts to explore the propagandistic strategiesthe leaflets used, trying to obtain some enlightenment to the future development ofthe psychological warfare. |
