ObjectiveTo get a general idea about migrants’actual psychological health status and life who are from South-to-north water transfer project reservoir, explore the differences in psychological health status between migrants and residents, and analyze the related factors. It also provides scientific evidence for later immigration psychological intervention and better solutions to solve the objective existence of psychological problems.MethodsUsing the stratified multi-stage cluster sampling method, we selected823migrants during vulnerable period who come from the Danjiangkou reservoir area and842local residents. All objects were interviewed with Residents General Status Table and Symptom Check-list90(SCL-90).The original data were input Epidata3.0recording-system, and analyzed by SPSS17.0statistic analysis software, and the test standard was0.05.Results1. The psychological health status of South-to-North water transfer project reservoir immigrants were compared with those of local inhabitants, and it was found that the migrants during vulnerable period got higher scores in the total score of Symptom Check-list90(SCL-90) as well as each factors, the differences are statistically significant (P<0.05).2. Taking gender, age, marital status, education level, occupation and family income as stratified variables, the status of psychological health of male,15to29and30to44years old age group, married group, higher educational level group, farmers, annual household incomes below the poverty line group and two times above the poverty line group are worse in the migrants than those in the local residents. 3. Through stratified analysis of psychological health of the immigrants during vulnerable period, the results showed that low age group, unmarried group and non-agricultural group migrants are worse than others.4. The multiple linearity regression model is making with SCL-90total score as dependent variable and13factors as independent variables, it reveals that factors influencing total stress-score included overall assessment of this relocation, career, satisfaction of the immigration policy, economic status that compared with other households in the village and whether you want to move back.ConclusionBased on the status of the psychological health of the immigrants during vulnerable period in Danjiangkou dam-site, this study analyzes the influencing factors of psychological health in immigrants with stratified analysis and factor analysis from the aspects of gender, age, marital status, educational level, etc. It has great significance to understand the mental health status of reservoir resettlement and guide later immigrants work. Through this survey, it was found that because these immigrants have just moved to migrants resettled places, they still cannot fully adapt to their new life and have different levels mental health problems in different aspects. It suggests that related departments should pay more attention to immigrants and provide a full range of social support to them, by understanding immigrations’ demands, improve immigration policy and psychological intervention measures to improve their mental health status, in order to achieve the long-term stability of the migrants in resettlement places.
