The Investigation And Study For The Spiritual Requirements Of The Rural Youth In The New Era

Rural Youth is a new generation of the main force of China’s economic and social development, is also the new force of the new rural construction. The mental state and spiritual needs of the rural youth not only reflects the rural mental outlook, but also offers an effective way for strengthening the construction of spiritual civilization in rural areas.This paper gives a detailed investigation on the mental condition of the contemporary rural youth, rural youth’s spiritual needs, as well as elements of their spiritual needs. The investigation found that the mental condition of the rural youth are positive in general, their spiritual needs transformed from a simple self-meet type to the desire of achieving self-worth, but their understanding of national construction, leadership of the Communist Party, rural construction and development were insufficient and they also lack of the right faith, the pursuit, patriotism, the overall conception, agriculture awareness, hardship spirit, sense of gratitude and sense of responsibility, legal knowledge and concept, they tend to focus on rural medical security, studies of children and the protection of interests of rural youth. As the general low level of income of rural households and the education of rural youth, the spiritual needs of the rural youth are hard to fulfill and affected by various factors, which lead to many problems. These problems include having bad social conduct by outmoded regulations and irrational practices such as superstition, bringing unstable factor by increasing recessive unemployment rate, increasing criminal rate by moral absence etc. The author thinks that we should enhance rural basic education, vocational education and ideology and politics education in order to fulfill spiritual needs and change the unhealthy spiritual outlook. We should develop education for rural youth, carry out the policy about agriculture, farmer and rural area, alleviate the differences and strengthen the construction of new countryside cultural facilities. The concrete measures include enhancing ideology and politics education, legal education of rural youth, laying emphasis on moral trait, taking advantage of vanguard role of rural league members, promoting and developing modern civilization and advanced civilization, increasing qualities training and efficiency in the work of rural youth, strengthening the leadership on the work of rural youth and constructing perfect organization for ideology and politics work of rural youth, enhancing service standard and creating various platforms and guiding rural youth to attend the construction of democracy and to create better social environment.
