Social capital theory is a unique perspective to analyze the rural governance in China. The study from the perspective of social capital theory can help people attach importance to non-institutional factors, pay more attention to social capital which hide in the social structure of rural society, and recognize the importance of social capital so as to achieve good governance of rural. The recovery of traditional social capital and the rise of modern social capital are two main characteristics of the current rural society capital of China. Embodied in the power’s common renaissance of traditional kin and clan, recovery of different popular religion and the new type of farmers organization which Pregnant with the bud of modern social capital has begun to appear. Different kinds of social capital react on the whole process of rural governance from different angles, playing an important role in the management of township government, the relationship between township and village and each key link of village governance. Therefore, if we want to promote the democratic governance and development of rural area, it is necessary to pay attention to social capital. We should from the level of practice and spirit, through the way of perfecting the law, making a optimization in the system and construction, Strengthening education and guiding consensus to enhance the positive impact of social capital and reduce the negative part of social capital. On the one hand, we should dig deeper for the stock of traditional social capital and realize its modern transformation. On the other hand, we should cultivate and develop modern social capital actively. Only in this way can we better to play the positive role of social capital to the rural governance in China and realize the good governance of rural.
