The Campus Security Work Mode To Build The Secondary Units

In recent years, with the fast transition of China’s higher education from traditional and relatively isolating elite education to a modern open socialized mode, students differ a lot from each other in age, economic condition, personal background and other aspects. This contributes to more factors and chances of conflicts and disputes as before. With the reformation of faculty recruitment system in colleges and universities as well as the implement of teacher appointment system, the youth and diversity of the faculty become prominent. Furthermore, some external teachers have a poor sense of responsibility and are indifferent to the university’s security problems, which lead to the failure of the comprehensive treatment measures of campus security in the teaching department, division, agency and other units.Sun Yat-Sen University lies in the front of China’s opening up and reformation, whose open tradition possesses a long history and specific geographical and cultural background. The multi-campus cooperation makes it difficult to realize a unified security management mode. Moreover, different campuses have different security priorities. Even in one campus, different work patterns and methods are also required in different jurisdiction units, departments and works. Focusing on the hot spots and difficulties, the security organization has carried out a good deal of explorations and innovations. So it may be said that the safety work of secondary unit is born at the right moment.Take the south campus of Sun Yat-Sen University for example, the security situation is relatively complicated, because residence, education and commerce gather in one. Furthermore, it is far from adequacy if the campus security merely depends on the security department due to the limitation of full-time security personnel, finance and so forth. In particular, the security department finds it difficult to investigate the situation within secondary units when it involves countermeasures. Thus, potential resources in the secondary units need to be rediscovered so as to build a practical and feasible function system. In order to motivate all departments of disciplines, campus business resources, and to establish and improve the campus security system, the Security Department of Sun Yat-Sen University keeps up with times, forges ahead and innovates the thought pattern of security work. So far, the safety preventive work model of secondary unit in south campus has achieved a little success and gained some experience, which is worth to be summarized and refined. This paper tries to illustrate safety preventive work model closely related to the security management of the campus to develop the ability and efficiency of college safety protection in the future and to maintain the normal order of teaching, researching and studying in universities and colleges.
