The nihilism of law is niether a closed historical phenomenon, nor analready finished issue left over by history. The nihilism of law whichranks in the category of value nihilism, always exists every cornor ofjuristic area and greatly threaten the construction of a modernlaw-governed society. Heidegger, who is regarded as a specialist invalue nihilism, provides us a new vision to deeply explor the nihilismof law. Heidegger once conducted a forum which called “Nietzsche says‘God is dead’”in Fleurburrg univercity. he said:perhaps one day wemay find out the essence of nihilism and it may be the last step ofmetaphysics. We couldn’t find another form of nihilism, for to someextent, nihilism has lost its own intrinsic quality. The words above fullydemonstrate Heidegger’s views upon the essence of nihilism. Heattributed this formation cause to the termination of metaphysics. Animportant clue of this article is just Heidegger’s profoundunderstanding of value nihilism, which is also fully reflected in thosewords. Based on this and under the guidance of Heidegger’s perspectives,I reposition the development process and the fundamental nature of thenihilism of law and I believe that Heidegger’s thoughts will bringsignificant values to overcome the defects of the nihilism of law. Thisarticle is divided into three following parts. The first part mainly reveal the basic theories of nihilism of law.By introducing its features as well as its characteristics, We can geta clear definition of the nihilism of law.The second part evaluates whether heidegger’s views can apply to thelaw and by extention elaborates the possibilities of analysing the nihilism of law through heiddger’s perspectives.Under the guidance of heidegger’s views, the third part analyses thenihilism of law by detailes, based on which, it repositions the nihilismof law,and at last,it explors the values of Heidegger’ views whenfunctioning on the nihilism of law.
