Citizen Participation In Public Decision-making In Of Our Guvernment

Citizen participation in government public decision-making is the reflection ofpromoting socialist democracy. The rapid development of China’s economic awakeningsome extent promoted the awareness of the interests of the citizens, the emergence of newsocial problems and the needs of citizens for political interests，these are the pressure ofthe current political system. But citizen participation in public decision-making ingovernment today, appears disorderly, irrational participation. These problems wouldadversely affect the construction of democratic politics in China. How to solve the variousproblems of the citizens to participate in public decision-making of the government,achieving citizens to participate in the orderly, institutionalized, that is the main problemof this article is to explore.This paper discusses the basic theory of public decision-making and citizenparticipation, including the meanings, and the role of the public decision-making, andcitizen participation in public decision-making pathways ans significance, and from thetheory of people’s sovereignty, democratic administrative theory and the theory of publicgovernment to discusses the theoretical basis of citizen participation; On this basis,combed our citizens to participate in the course of development, explored publicdecision-making of our government in citizen participation exist, mainly involved in themechanism is not perfect, channels for participation is poor, differentiation apparent, lackof citizen participation program, the main body of the citizens of poor awareness of thelevel of participation is not high; Analysis of the reasons from economic, political, social,and ideas and other aspects; Last, proposed the ways and means to promote citizens toparticipate effectively in government decision-making, government should change theirconcepts, improve the system and mechanisms, improve the quality of citizens througheducation and political and cultural construction, at the same time, the development ofother social forces is a way to promote the effective participation.
