A Research On Mutual Support Between Peasants

The order of Chinese peasants’production and life have changed a lot since reform and opening up in1978.The business model has changed from people’s commune to households. This kind of business model adapts to the nature gender, periodic, space dispersion of the farming industry, mobilizes peasants enthusiasm, promotes our rural community and agricultural development. With market reform in China, economic orders in rural community encountered severe challenges. Because of simple family structures, shortage of manpower, scattered resources, and low degree of mechanization, peasants cannot totally rely on a single family to complete the production. The contradiction between small peasants and big market is becoming much more outstanding, for China participated in the WTO and the environment changed a lot.The paper is based on the other scholars’ researches. It’s under the guidance of the peasants’ behavior theory and social network theory and using quantitative research together with the qualitative research. The paper studies H village in Jilin province to know about peasants’ mutual behavior during the edible fungus production process. The fourth chapter to the eighth chapter is the main body of the paper. The paper discusses about the current situation, problems, reasons, change trend from different levels. Chapter4:the level of production tools discusses the current situation and the development trend. Chapter5:the level of information studies information of technology, price and labor, talk about the source of the information and the influence as well.Chapter6:the level of labor force studies the labor demand of peasants in H village, labor sources, the roles helpers and employees play in solving labor problems, and my opinion about labor intermediary organization. Chapter7:the level of fund is in order to realize peasants’conditions of demand, the major source, and the role of the agent in the folk credit, the potential crisis of the existing channel and the necessity and possibility to establish mutual fund institutions. Chapter8:the level of public affairs take road repairing as an example, to explain the elite together with community peasants to solve the shared difficulties and troubles.The result shows that changing information between peasants relieves pressure on labor and fund in rural community in China, they deal with public affairs together in elite’s lead to ensure the edible fungus production run smoothly. But, we should also see that the relationship is changing. Weak ties are becoming much more important. Peasants make choices based on their economic benefits. Human relationship is going to be replaced by contractual relationship. Trust crisis force people changing their social interaction habits. Lacking of elites directly affect the public affairs, mutual help and cooperation. The paper involves many levels, so that it’s lack of a more thorough and meticulous research. I hope researchers could go on the subject, so as to provide more and more effective and convenient access to resources.
