Missing And Helpless:the Investigation Of Holiday Welfare About The Migrant Workers In Nanjing

With the development of urbanization, migrant workers have become a considerable scale, the city social group identity and social status is quite unique. Migrant workers, however, is also a city in the marginal groups in the transformation of urban and rural dual structure and the interaction of market economy, all kinds of migrant workers are mostly engaged in low-end jobs in the labor-intensive enterprises, due to social discrimination, lack of legal protection, and individual rights protection consciousness, their holiday rights are often violated. Focus on their vacation lack of welfare and security is of great practical significance.In this paper, through literature analysis and in-depth interviews, to understand Nanjing migrant workers in different industries generally exist in hard working conditions, low education level, underdeveloped household registration, low wages and benefits and long working hours. And most of the migrant workers voluntarily choose to give up vacation. Contacting the big background of the development of social change and urbanization, social transformation is not the only reason for the lack of migrant workers holiday welfare. Absence of government functions, personal rights protection of laches and the tendency of employers for profit are all important factors. According to the results of the analysis, we can get the feasibility countermeasures. On the basis of accelerating urban and rural integration process, we must further improve the supervision of labor rights and interests protection law, and enhance the consciousness of the workers to maintain their rights.
