Using Ideological And Political Courses As Vehicles To Further The Research On Popularization Of Marxism In Colleges

One strategic task, stipulated in CCP17th Congress Report, is to promote the popularization of Marxism, which has been a hot topic both in ideology and academy fields. Thus, by resorting to relevant researches and combining them with my own teaching experiences, this paper is seeking to offer suggestions about how to promote the popularization of Marxism.So called the popularization of Marxism refers to popularize Marxism theories among college students so as to make Marxism theories as the cornerstone of their thoughts and guidance of their behavior as well as the mainstream thoughts among college students and to ensure that they will become our qualified socialist successors. College students stand for the hope both for the CCP and our nation. That said, the popularization of Marxism has been an important political task whose significance stands out even more given the conditions both at home and abroad. Colleges are the key places for the popularization of Marxism theories which in turn are the staple of the ideological and political courses with the important task to popularize Marxism. At present, the effects of ideological and political courses have been improved. But to streamline the structure of ideological and political courses continuously has assume important meanings for the popularization of Marxism in college.The following are the underlying train of thoughts and the basic contents for the paper. In the first place, I defined and explained the popularization of Marxism and that in college. Upon realizing the necessity and urgency for the popularization of Marxism in college, I suggested that ideological and political course be used as the vehicle for that purpose. By analyzing the shortcomings in promoting the role of ideological and political course for popularization of Marxism, we can pinpoint the problems and make remedies. The paper indicates that we can do that from three main perspectives. First, we need to improve the teaching of the ideological and political courses. We should adopt more suitable teaching paradigms, improve teaching methods, firmly maintain class discipline and introduce new criteria for the assessment. Secondly, we should also make use of "the second class" via the Internet or in the real life, making sure it work with the normal class teaching and further the popularization of Marxism. Thirdly, we have to improve the teachers quality regarding their thinking capacity and teaching ability for the ideological and political courses. They are supposed to have firm political faith in Marxism, thoroughly understanding Marxism theories and charming personality, able to improve themselves endlessly.
